Totomaye Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Faure, 1966; Named for Mount Totomaye in the Djado Basin known for its archeological sites (Ferhat et al., 1992).

Equivalent(s): Emi-Bao Fm (Fig. 7-146). Faure (1966, p. 356) also notes: “Among the different series that I have studied in Niger, it is with the sandstones at the top of the plateau south of Djado (Totomaye, north of the Bilma basin) that the sandstones of Koutous present the most marked analogies.”
Lithology and Thickness
Coarse kaolinitic sandstone with cross-bedded stratifications, 90 m thick (Fig. 1). Its facies are similar to the Emi Bao Fm (Fig. 2) but with coarser grains.

Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Underlying Unit: Faure (1966) does not mention any Formation name; however, he states that the formation underlying the Totomaye Fm on Mount Totomaye is Visean in age (Fig. 2) which would most likely make it the Marar Fm.
